I get why some rubes wouldnt like Cosmopolis but i cant even understand why you dont like Maps. Its almost a companion piece to spring breakersLoathedVermin72 wrote:eXistenZ is terrible. I dig The Dead Zone, The Fly, Naked Lunch and eXistenZ ( the latter is my least favorite).
History of Violence is terrible.
So... I guess, overall, I like Cronenberg?

I love AHOV and Videodrome. The Fly and Dead Ringers are very good. I don't think any other Cronenberg has totally worked for me. But I still watch whatever he does because he's a compelling auteur, even if he doesn't always succeed.

What Women Want is on TV. We've been fucked out of 10 years or prime-age Mel and I'm not happy about it.

I totally agree. The guy's a rare talent. Far FAR more interesting and with a bigger range than that Tom Cruise guy you love so much.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I felt the same way half an hour into Joy. Holy hell that is a terrible movie. I wish I could say I was biased or something against the performers but I really like all of them in other works, it's just that this one movie was a total shit show. There was no reason for this story to be told in a movie, especially dramatised like that. Ugh.tragabigzanda wrote:omg my only hope is a power outage. Cronenberg on Cronenberg is a fantastic book for anyone interested in the guy's movies, or just movies in general.

dvr'd 28 Weeks Later off HBO & finally watched it. Pretty good for a sequel even if most of the action was in the second half.
