I feel like Mike realized he doesn't know anything about movies, so now he just compares everything to Star Trek.

Tweet won’t load up here for me.
https://twitter.com/rianjohnson/status/ ... 29024?s=21 When we were in production we had a guy keeping an eye on online rumors. At some point we started using “Zeroh” as a verb. Like, *throws trash at basket, but it slips out of your hand and falls behind you* “Zeroh’d it!”

TLJ is the best selling Blu ray in the US so far this year. Beating Black Panther and Thor. I can see Avengers beating it but let’s see

Should give you an indication about how much people, in actual reality, hated the movie.

EVen the most vocal haters bought it. Some to burn it and post the video of it burning on twitter, undoubtedly but as we’ve seen these people don’t understand it’s not a boycott if you destroy it *after you’ve given them your money.

Is there a way to find out how many iTunes or Netflix or amazon downloads or sales or whatever ?

The best way to compare is probably against The Force Awakens, as the main SW episodes have massive pulling power, that few movies can compete against. Will be interesting to see how Episode IX will do.

Nah it’s not comparable I don’t think. TFA was a perfect storm and was always gonna do far more business in theatres and at home than anything that followed.

That said I can see IX meeting it or eclipsing it at the box office if they hammer home that it’s the final chapter and the end of this Star Wars.

I didn't like it and didn't buy it either. I watched it 1 time from library and 20 minutes on netflix to see if my mind was changed and it wasn't

I think a lot of people liked TLJ, I'm not dismissing that. But I do think you will get people that buy anything SW that will buy it. And you will have people that are SW completionists and will buy the blu-ray just to complete the saga, whether they like it or not.

This is a small percentage of the total, though.

I haven't bought a blu-ray since TFA ( or any blu-ray for that matter). We just don't buy them anymore and can watch movies on Netflix or get from the library.
