Me too. I accidentally turned my computer off while I was in the middle of watching yesterday's episode, and I thought to myself, "Oh good. I'm done with this show. It's not worth browsing all the way back and finding where I was. I'm not going to watch any more of this season." But when I turned the computer back on it just automatically started playing from where I was. I was disappointed, but I continued to watch.

After the 15 minute mark i got upset that i was still wasting my time with it. I turned it off and went to bed.

I finished it this morning.

That is all.

I almost fell asleep during the first 40 minutes or so. The eyes wide shut-ish final scene was interesting, but before that? Just more of the same horrible dialogue and unconvincing deliveries.

I guess I'll stick around for the last two. I've come this far, might as well.

You people are talking like this season is as bad as Dexter or Entourage got after a few seasons

TD will absolutely be back for a 3rd season you nimrods. This is Hollywood we're talking about.

And while he got sole writing credit on season 1, I think the general consensus is that Cary Fukunaga helped shape how Pizzollato's words translated to the screen. With 4 different directors this year, there just isn't that sense of cohesiveness between the episodes.

Wow, this line from the latest episode has got to be among the worst yet...

If this thing wasn't called "True Detective" and aired instead on TNT or some other cable station, Season 3 wouldn't even be a discussion at this point. As a long time subscriber to HBO, I almost want to ask for my money back, but I am getting HBO for 5 bucks a month right now via a "discount," so whatever.

This is just bad, very bad TV, but with a couple episodes left I'm gonna see it through. Maybe that's "hate watching" out of curiosity. I dunno. Like an on coming train wreck. I just can't look away. These tracks. Those trains. I know it's bad, but I need to see this through, because when you see something through, no one can ever say you didn't.

Just caught up with this season, and going to post prior to y'all ruining my opinion.

I like it. I've read some comments around here and there saying it's confusing, or that people don't know what's going on, etc...I am following it just fine, and really into it (s1 had moments I was like "wut?". I've also seen the "not as good as s1" comments, and while that may be true, s1 is really hard to top.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the final two episodes, and reading the shitty reviews of this season here.

Man, i loved that last chapter. I saw all 5 episodes again this weekend and i really like this season. Yeah, there are some pretty stupid lines, but i enjoy this pulp noir story a lot.

And the acting is fuckin A, i just adore Vince in the last episode...that moment with the kid? and his eyes while talking to those mexicans? great stuff.

The party scene reminds me of Eyes Wide Shut.

VV just isn't good at all

The bags under Vaughn's eyes have done a nice job this season.

I actually think Vince Vaughn is doing a great job. he is doing the best that one could do with some of the lines he's given.

I disagree with most of y'alls critique of this season. Maybe it helped that I crammed them all in within two weeks?

Well i get the overall feeling that season one was better, i migh feel that way too. The thing is, i dont compare them.
This is different beast, its film noire and pulp at its best.
What i dont really get is the hate that its getting. Even if you dont like it, there are still plenty of good things to enjoy here. And its an 8 episode story, so its getting there...and it wont continue.

I saw the first 5 on the weekend, and i like it more.


And VV fucking rules.
