I don't think there is a more overrated human being on the planet than Mike "Epic is the only thing I ever did that didn't completely suck" Patton.

Patton's never done anything musically that I've enjoyed but his label's put out some excellent stuff.

Wolfmother were/are shockingly bad.

Guys we're wasting precious rumors and speculation space on Wolfmother and Mike Patton. I'd appreciate it everyone could start wondering if Ole will be on the new album thanks.

Mods, please do your job next time so I don't have to. I'd rather not be the bad guy around here. :peace:

Why do people even care about a new Pearl Jam album? It'll be a mediocre-to-solid album that will contain some rockers and some ballads. Critics will call it a "return to form" but it'll be the same by the numbers album that we've been hearing since 06. Posters here will disect every bit of info from band interviews and convince themselves that we're "finally going to get the art space rock batshit insane experimental album" from them, and we'll truly believe that until we hear the single, which will be a 3-4 minute no nonsense punk rocker.

Am I wrong? The only reason you still listen to Pearl Jam is to desperately cling on to that time in the 90s where you were young and just partied and smoked weed all day. Well, it's 2016, you're grown ass men with jobs and kids and responsibilities. Why are you even listening to Pearl Jam? I mean, it's Pearl Jam, the Whitesnake of the 90s. Throw away the flannel, put the Doc Martens back in the cupboard, and grow up. Only by letting go of Pearl Jam can you ascend into the heavens which we call BEING A GROWN ASS ADULT

A score like that at least elicits some kind of reaction - hate, revulsion, disgust.

What would you rate Pearl Jam's recent albums? 5/10? 6/10? Fine. Solid. Decent. OK. Mediocre. Meh.

You left out the part where fans will invariably pick three to five mediocre pieces from the album to consider "diamonds in the rough," overstating any reverb'd pop affectation as "atmospheric" and praising any tepid rehash as "a nice twist on one of the band's stronger templates."
