Good eye. Though i can't say for certain its 2 wookies! Definitely a wookie hugging someone or something else. What leads me to believe it might be 2 wookies....one of the wookies is not chewie.

It looks like a farewell scene. Could be this is Han freeing or rescuing chewie.

They do have to explain how Chewie is a military leader in revenge of the sith then just a smugglers sidekick in this, which isn't set that long after ROTS.

So Han freeing him from an imperial prison or something makes sense.

That's the old legends version, right? Han frees him from a Imperial prison.
