if someone asks if you like a certain band or artist, but over time their bad albums have vastly eclipsed the good ones. what do you say? (without going into detail about how they used to be good but now they suck)

(i'd prefer to just say no, rather than let people think i enjoy terrible albums)

I tend to say "I used to"

but in any case, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of my music taste

Some of it's good, some if it less so; listen for yourself.

I usually specify a period - i.e. 'I quite like Muse up to Black Holes and Revelations, and haven't cared for much since'

i think what i'm trying to say is, im more likely just to say "[insert band] sucks" rather than bother to defend the few albums i liked 20 years ago.

oh god what is it with artists replacing their albums with remastered ones on streaming services??? that alone is annoying enough, but Tom Waits replaced the original Real Gone with the updated version which sounds completely different. whyyyyy oh god why. this trend needs to stop. just have the original and the remastered one on there? how hard could it be?

Its these sort of little peeves around streaming services (in addition to the so often ass audio quality) that keep me engaged in my digital flac library hobby/obsession. It suits the way I consume my music and I don't have the pita of either having to search annoyingly deeply for a specific song version or just having the version disappear altogether at some one else's whim.
