A lot of hate/dislike for AtW on here huh? I always thought it was a pretty uplifting song and, dare I say it, the closest thing to "classic Pearl Jam" that they've done in the past 15 years.

That's what most people hate about it here.

To be fair, I like ATW quite a bit myself, but reaching back 15 years to try and recreate "classic Pearl Jam" isn't the best career move. Personally I think ATW is more than that but I understand the hate.

But why are people so sure that this kind of songwriting is a career move by the band? You throw the same ingredients into the pot and you're going to get some stuff that sounds similar. As I recall, it's got some pretty different chords and a capo on the main guitar (Stone's). It is what it is, right?

So has anything happened in the last 8-9 hours? I read somewhere that someone had said Tuesday was going to be a very good day for us, but it's now my Wednesday and as far as I can tell - nothing's happened.

I agree, but not everyone does. They haven't done a song like that in at least 15 years. And in the sense that every song they put on an album is a career move, so was this.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but how many PJ album releases have been preceded by more than one studio track? Avocado is the only one that comes to mind...

The Fixer had a b-side which was also on the album.

well, some of the singles had studio tracks as b-sides... Who You Are/Habit, Spin The Black Circle/Tremor Christ, WWS/Unemployable... etc
