I suppose saying that he is doing it intentionally would be a theory, and it does seem that he has gone out of his way to support that theory.

I never go to reddit, but I spend a lot of time at asoiaf.westeros.org these days.

I wish Tower of the Hand was more up to date. That shit was off the chain back before aDwD came out.

I still love the shit out of those essays, even if they are a bit old at this point.

I'm a big fan of these essays on Meereen.

https://meereeneseblot.wordpress.com/20 ... e-locusts/

He makes a strong case for Skahaz being the locust poisoner.

I accidentally told a friend the no one dies in their own POV chapters when discussing Jon Snow (he had seen him die in the show but was only on book one or two at the time). He then came to me after the red wedding and was all "HAH YOU'RE WRONG CAT DIED IN HER OWN CHAPTER!"
exactly
but Cat did die.

No no has stayed dead, though. It's not just "didn't die in their own POV." It's died in their own POV and stayed dead. That's the loophole.

I'm becoming convinced that Lady Stoneheart is going to be more important to the endgame than D&D would have you believe.
Which combined version are you working off of? This one?: http://boiledleather.com/post/259025541 ... rder-for-a If so, any thoughts? I'm undertaking a complete re-read and just finished ASOS, and am planning to try the combined AFFC/ADWD.

Well this is disappointing, though not entirely surprising. http://grrm.livejournal.com/

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I decided two seasons ago that I'd keep with the show and the books. I fully expected S6 to come before WoW. And here we are. No sweat. The two tales are different enough at this point that I can enjoy both of them in whatever order. But the show is too good not to watch.

This is how I feel about it now. This is disappointing news because it means more time before I read winds of winter. But enough shit has changed with the show that not when the show spoils the books you don't even know if that's really what happens in the books. Stannis died in the show, but fuck, I still have no idea how shit is getting resolved outside Winterfell.

Though this could be worse. I never really thought it'd be out before S6, but he could have blogged today that it won't even be done until, but this looks like he could have the manuscript done by say mid summer and still have it published for next Christmas or around then.

Just me reading between the lines and inferring a lot but it sure sounds to me, in that blog post, like GRRM really expected HBO to push back this season until the book was out. I think he had the genuine hubris to believe they would do it. Now he's caught with his pants down.

Hopefully, it really inspires him to stay focused. I'd still love to have the book by Christmas 2016.
