that was just a bullshit excuse he made. They were done in plenty of time and he didn't go on for hours after. From what I heard he didn't even get there until very late. He was just being an Axl. His set was a joke, at least what I could hear from my tent. That's how the whole 'Fuck Kanye" thing started, haha.

I do remember the YouTube vids of that performance. He sounded like shit. I saw him do All Day at halftime of a bulls game last year and that seemed to come off better.
