Hey. I’m not being a moan but I really don’t have the energy. I’m stuck in bed all day and can’t sleep. It’s rotten

company i work for has us scheduled in miami the 16th -20th for a relaxing workshop

many folks planned a vacation around this but right now while its still on there is a growing anxiety that it will be cancelled and i cant honestly blame them if they do

First case in St. Louis area. Student traveling home from Italy. They did all the proper stuff and had her quarantine at home with her family.

Dad decides younger sister can’t miss a high school dance at the upscale Ritz-Carlton. He takes his younger daughter to the dance., breaking the quarantine for him and his younger daughter.

Kid goes to a high end private school. They live in a high end suburb of St. Louis. Apparently quarantines don’t matter to rich people.

People are pissed..

Edit: conflicting stories on whether or not this happened before or after they were told to quarantine. might have been waiting pending test results..

Very St. Louis story if this is true.

We get hundreds of thousands of visitors into Dublin alone from overseas in March just for Patrick’s week. And yep. They still haven’t canceled it. This is a disaster waiting to happen and that’s not overstating it.

I love Chicago. My favourite town in the states. Never been there for paddy’s day but have been in NYC for it and it was awesome. So much fun.

Next door neighbors have a trip planned to Ireland next month or May, I can’t remember. I asked if they were worried about Coronavirus.

“Nah, not really.”

They’re both in their 70s and retired.

We’ve only got 22 cases so far. But I’d expect that to explode if the paddy’s week festivities go ahead. We’ve relatively low population density so they should be ok but it depends where they go. It’s a gamble like going anywhere now

Is it really self quarantine when no one wants to be near you anyway?

If Congress closes to help avoid spreading the virus should we be expected to keep our kids in school and keep going into the work? At some point are we going to just have to make the call ourselves?

insurance liability prob too high to remain open

Seattle Public can’t close the in-building stuff all the way down because of some key services they provide (mostly, childcare in a city where there is none). But if they’re open, they can’t really refuse any kids their services, so their letters out to families right now all low key suggest that maybe you should keep your kid home if you can, no questions asked, so they don’t have to keep making all these geezer teachers come to work.
