Fair point… that Stones run is pretty perfect too. But I give Yellow Submarine a pass :-D

John's demo was already golden.
But that Anthology 2 version knocked me out as soon as Ringo and George chimed in with their bits.

I kinda miss not knowing that much about music generally, and allowing novelty stuff like that knock me out of my socks.
I miss not knowing much about production, mixing, soundstage, compression, etc.

I like it. Not sure I’ll be going back to it consistently but it definitely took me somewhere. I like the verses and the chorus grew on me. Nice little ending. I’m glad they did it.

The good thing I got out of this is that it made me listen to "Real Love" a couple of times.
Also this was a pretty good read:

It’s pretty amazing that with all the songs Paul and John wrote together, in the years after The Beatles broke up, there were only two songs that they disagreed on in regards to who the primary writer was: Elenor Rigby and In My Life. They each claimed those as their own. I always heard Elenor Rigby as a Paul song and In My Life as a John song but after knowing this it’s easy to hear them being either of their’s.

Not an all time classic, but a pretty good song. I am glad they released it.

It’s alright.

The Beatles approached JRR Tolkien about making a film of lord of the rings. He politely turned them down saying it couldn’t be filmed. Now the guy who made lord of the rings has brought a Beatles song to life previously thought couldn’t be done.

Full circle eh?
