i think i need to go back to biking to the sled hill and do some hlll work.

4 miles in 26 minutes

Felt like shit all day, but went to the gym anyway. Did some speed work. A useless run with my Grand Canyon trip looming. :?

My wife and kids have been battling a really bad "bug" for more than a week now. I had been lucky to not catch it, but I woke up this morning with body aches and a terrible headache.

I don't give a shit, I'm running the Grand Canyon even if it fucking kills me and I'll be going to the gym tonight to sweat all the bad shit out of my system.

Me too. This will be my final run before my taper/carbo-load and I need it to be a good one. In the past I could gut out a rim-to-rim run without a care, but those days are behind me. 40 is a bitch.

i can't relate to your type of running, since your 'waste of a run' usually equates to my kick ass run
however, i can relate to getting old...its an uphill battle not to be over the hill.

I certainly don't mean to belittle your running, bro. We all have different abilities. I enjoy reading your posts.

~9 miles with 4,000 feet elevation gain in 82 minutes

Still feeling sick when I got to the gym. Cranked up the incline and just gritted my teeth. Was gonna stop at 3,000 feet, but continued to 4,000. Puked a little afterward. Great run.

Went to the gym last night. Did okay, nothing special. I thought my chest weight seemed easier last night so I did an extra round. I didn't realize I had accidently left 5kgs off each side; I had set up for backs & hamstrings. May not seem like much but I'm feeling the difference this morning.
Only knocked out a mile on the treadmill, starting to slack off there a little bit

another disgusting morning run 5 mi in exactly 47 min.

i like the garmin, however cant figure out the pace. i realize it is not exact pace at that moment, but it was telling me my pace was 6.2 to 6.9 and i was obvousily nowhere near that at any point in the run.

It's displaying your "miles per hour" pace, not your pace in minutes. I'm sure it's just a quick settings adjustment.

It's carbo-load time. 5,000 calories a day for the next two days. :li:

Holy hell. I haven't taken in 5,000 a day since High School/College hockey days. No chance I could eat that much these days.

5,000 is my goal, but I usually only reach about 4,000. Pasta with bread for lunch, then a large pizza for dinner usually gets me to about 3,500. Then I add a couple of fruit smoothies that I sip on throughout the day.

I don't think I've had that many calories in one day since my bachelor party.

I'm not doing so well... Pop Tarts and a Coke are all I have consumed thus far...
