Dan Slott's last issue of Amazing Spider-Man was really touching. It's a stand alone so no need to worry about being lost.

I'm not really into the X-Men anymore but I keep trying every now and again and for some reason this one hit for me.

His art is timeless. Looks as good today as when he first drew it.

Marvel's latest relaunch of Hulk is a full on horror comic. Number 2 was legit creepy. Horror fans might want to give it a shot.
