That’s fucking badass. Would’ve fit perfectly in AiC 92-95.

Amazing. Classic grunge. Fucking buries Pearl Jam's new shit.

I gotta ask the same thing again, why isn't this an Alice in Chains song? His solo stuff and AIC is nearly indistinguishable as far as the stuff I like the most goes, only something like the song Brighten sounded any different.

This one feels more heavier even than AIC. closer to Degradation Trip than Boggy Depot. But yeah, a lot of his solo music resembles a lot and sometimes the main difference are the vocal harmonies he has with Will or had with Layne.

At this point i guess its easier to him to do this solo albums that get around the band, specially if Will or Mike doesnt have new stuff.

Well see, im guessing next year they will head to studio.

The vocals sounded like he was totally going for Layne-era AiC vibes.

This is the third album mixed by Joe Barresi and i can tell, Rainier Fog and Brighten sounded pretty good, but he also producing the new one and damn i love how it sounds...drums are huge and the bass is a fucking banger.

Ill listen to a few Jerry tunes

Psychotic Break is so fucking awesome. Vocals are cool AF, but that guitar and that rhythm section are as heavy as you can get

Degradation Trip Vol. 1 and 2 fucking rules. Brighten was okay.

Don't sleep on Jerry's song from the Batman soundtrack either:

Also, the guitars in Mother´s Spinning In Her Grave are so fucking cool. The tones are completely Jerry Cantrell bliss.

Vilified comes off as kind-of a kitchen-sink tune, musical hints of everything Cantrell has done solo or with AiC. Not that there is anything wrong with that at all, I like it but looking forward to perhaps more focused tracks. Very happy he is still making music and also him being that excited about it.

Oh yeah that’s another cool one

Of course I’ll add Leave Me Alone from the Cable Guy soundtrack. That’s a classic.

yeah, i love it so much. Such a wonderful mix between some AIC vibe and a more country oriented rock and roll.

i listened to Vol 1 of DT, i might jump into Vol 2 later.

You can hear a change over time production-wise in the tunes (of the three albums) but it feels kind of natural given that Cantrell has had more time in the industry post Layne.

Keep the Light On is still one of my absolute top JC/AiC tunes.
