Vettel won four Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles, which he won consecutively from 2010 to 2013 with Red Bull, and remains the youngest-ever World Drivers' Champion; he won 53 Grands Prix across 16 seasons.

Verstappen has won four Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles, which he won consecutively from 2021 to 2024 with Red Bull, and has won 62 Grands Prix across 10 seasons.

Vettel ended his F1 career having driven 299 grand prix, in which he took 3321 points, got 53 wins, had 122 podiums, and 57 pole positions.

Verstappen after this season will have driven 209 (currently 207) grand prix, in which he has taken 3008.5 points, gotten 62 wins, had 111 podiums, and 40 pole positions.

This is not old, but not new. Vettel has retired, Hamilton is stuck at 7, and Verstappen is now up to 4.



Hamilton now at 105 race wins, Verstappen on 62 wins.

In conclusion, Verstappen is now where Vettel was in 2013. Regarded as the best, relatively young, and with four Championships in a row. However, some stats are even stronger in Verstappen’s favor, and he has a good chance of leaving Vettel behind in the records books, as Vettel could not keep up his great record, and never won another Championship.

Verstappen will never get the cult status, the passion and the cool swagger of Senna, but if he keeps winning, he will be reaching for the records of Schumacher and Hamilton, and trying to equal (if not surpass) their status as all time greats.

Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton hold the record for the most World Drivers' Championships, both having won the title on seven occasions. Juan Manuel Fangio is third with five titles. Schumacher also holds the record for the most consecutive drivers' titles with five between the 2000 and the 2004 seasons.

Lewis Hamilton won four consecutive titles from 2017 to 2020, during which the seven-time world champion broke many of the records previously set by Schumacher.

As previously mentioned Vettel had four consecutive championships from 2010 to 2013, Juan Maniel Fangio did the same from 1953 to 1957, and Max Verstappen has now done it from 2021 to 2024.

There have been many great F1 champions, like Senna, Prost, Mansell, Stewart, Lauda, and current driver Alonso. Still the records of the top ever drivers, are unmatched.

Max totally deserves the trophy when you consider Perez made the current RB car look like a shitbox.

I just wish Norris could have clawed it back. Oh well, there's always next year!

Glad Verstappen got his fourth in a row, but agree that next season could be a really tight and interesting one.

Perez out at Red Bull after this year. GM/Cadillac will probably pick him up for their debut 2026 season as he is still popular in North America. Wonder who RB will promote/sign?

would be cool if perez did another yolo race in abu dhabi to save his career like the last time
