People can die without healthcare "collapsing". That word was thrown around way too much. It never happened.
Dude if you don't believe actual doctors and nurses about what they went through, you're just being stupid. There's pages and pages of testimony from around the world. Stop being stupid.

I was wondering where all the respirators made under the defense procurement act went... I mean... did we ever actually retool factories to make any of those?
The ventilator that kept my dad alive was made in June 2020. The hospitalist said several of their older vents were sent to rural hospitals and the coasts. I'm sure there was a need for them somewhere.
Damn, I sincerely hope he made it out ok.

Here's the broader answer:

Thanks for the links.

My dad is just now at an acute care facility to get his physical strength back. Will likely need oxygen for the foreseeable future as his lungs are still ravaged. We are eying a late May/Early June release to home care, which would be almost 5 months of hospitalization when it is all said and done.

He was taken off the vent officially and his trach was removed about 18 hours before my son was born last month. It was an emotional day to say the least.

Someone educate me please.

Having a vaccine makes you immune from contracting something?

Or keeps you from getting sick when you contract it?

The latter, though you may still experience mild symptoms.

Ok exactly. So positive test for a vaccinated person is a NON STORY.

It got busy at their job. Their job didn't "collapse".
Your original post said "overwhelmed" but of course you move the goalposts.

You keep making light of this, literally around posts about people's relatives being sick and dying. Sociopath shit. Get a fucking life.

The best way to encourage more verb posts is to engage with verb posts. Keep it rolling.

If I'm overwhelmed at my job I guess my interpretation of that is I'm unable to perform my duties. Like, a doctor would just sit down and start crying if one more covid patient was admitted and not provide care. It never happened.

A few days before that a 19- year old covid patient showed up at the ER at 4am in pain on a scale of 10 in his lower leg and right side and they sent us home after taking an x-ray of his ankle and announcing that "his ankle ain't fractured" despite the mom saying "is it a DVT and PE" and it actually was

There were ethics committees telling doctors which patients go on ventilators and which are left to die in 2020, verb.

Media reactions are more interesting than breakthrough cases at this point.

i live near a fracking plant that still has a ton of workers there that are from texas, louisanna, kentucky, florida and a few other southern states. a lot of those guys go to the gym in the morning and either only put a mask to walk in or only wear it when the employees come around. ill continue to wear mine to be on the safe side to stay away from any new strains that the vaccination may not cover

At least we can count on all the pro-mask anti-vaxxxers to be safe while all of us vaccinated people take off our masks.

The C.D.C. said that as of April 26, of the more than 95 million people in the United States who had been fully vaccinated, it knew of 9,245 breakthrough infections. Of those, there were 835 hospitalizations and 132 deaths.

Beginning on Friday, though, the C.D.C. said it would change the way it reported breakthrough infections to only those who were hospitalized or died — the two most severe outcomes from contracting Covid-19. In other words, the Yankees’ cases wouldn’t fall under that category going forward.
