This will be just the second PJ album that BoB hasn't had any involvement in, after S/T (third if you don't count his remix on Ten). Will be interesting to hear what another BoBless PJ album sounds like.

Vitalogy - produced & mixed
No Code - produced & mixed
Yield -produced & mixed
Binaural - Mixed
Riot Act - Mixed
S/T - no involvement
Backspacer - produced & mixed
Lightning Bolt - produced & mixed

He subsequently remixed S/T too.

so Ten & S/T were remixed years later, but he didn't have any involvement in their initial recording or mixing

I don’t think it is. LB sucked. It wasn’t the first pj album that was disappointing, but it was the first that felt pointless and lazy. I’d be shocked if after 7 years, they made another uninteresting album. I don’t think this will match their early output, but I do think it will be their best album since Binaural.

I have a feeling that they had started making the album a while ago with BoB, then half way or near the end they (mainly Jeff probably) wasn't happy that it was gonna be a LB2 type record of more of the same thing they've done the past 10 years, and they made a collective decision to scrap everything, get a new producer, and start from scratch

Would love to get another Single Video Theory type doco about their time in the studio

I would love it if we got each individual guy's vibe to come out. Get Matt's Cavedweller sensibilities, Jeff's stuff, Mike's projects, Stone, and Ed. Maybe sort of a composite of their side project personas. That'd be cool.

I'm more excited for this album than I can articulate. But there is zero chance it's better than Riot Act.
