The replies there are great. "It's not propaganda, she lives in China!"

So, China is tricking TikTok users into not getting married?

Some are saying that this woman in China is actually a Chinese woman that is using ai to make herself white and psy op westerners

“Actually, the reason young people in America aren’t getting married and having kids is because of Chinese psy ops on tik tok, and not because of the economic and social ills they’ve been stating as reasons for a decade” does seem like the kind of very dumb idea that both China and most Americans over the age of 55 would be destined to buy in to.

Or this clip could be simply this...

It’s not the content of the clip, it’s the targeted promotion of it. Guess folks have forgotten Cambridge Analytica already. Or maybe it's only Republicans and Putin that does this sort of thing?

Yeah they promote certain content to Americans that they don't in China itself. I'm sure there is some chicanery going on, though I'm not sure if this one is.

I have no idea either, I put it here as it's trending on multiple social media platforms now and it's amusing to watch the MickB crowd miss the point time and time again. The very definition of "forest for the trees".

I guess I do need help with your point, Bi?
Is your(the) point:

That tiktok is promoting it? Old news, we know they curate what the west sees differently than what the chinese see.

That it's a psy op? Sort of unknowable and sort of debunked.

That the right-minded view it one way and left-minded view it another? Gosh, this is quite the take in the year 2023.

What Matty Y said in the tweet, the ability of government controlled social media to cause conflict by manipulating the content users see.

Isn't that what all of them do?

This was revelatory just a few years ago, but is old news now.

It was more news worthy when it was positioned as AI assisted, but without that it just seems like a viral clip being spun by viewers to fit their own narratives.

No, most SM companies are not directed by their domestic governments to behave in that manner, and sure if you want to redirect you can claim it's old news (note the sarcasm in Matty Y's tweet) but that does not mean it's not effective or still a clear and present risk going into 2024. And the spinning is the point as the goal is division and distraction. It's a reminder that if you think foreign election interference via social media was bad in 2016, just wait until next year as roughly a third of voting age Americans under 30 are active users of the app.

The content is kinda interesting though. I interpret it as a mockery of western feminism, but clearly others here felt the need to defend it.

So which is it? Simple mockery or pSyOp?

Isn't that Matty's thing? Government controlled Twitter? Facebook is accused of the same, no? RE: Hunter's laptop?

They're begging for regulation and yet nobody wants to regulate.

Knowing nothing about this young lady and her motives, I think it's as interesting as it is temporary. I think she could havee turned the volume up a bit and gone more Nolan with it. And I don't know that I defended it. The tweet I shared gave another explanation that wasn't quite so conspiratorial.
