Still think the likely scenario is US regime wins big, Russia wins little, Europe loses big. but it will depend on just how incompetent Russia really is.

That video of the two Russian Soldiers getting it on before getting hit by a grenade has almost certainly been seen by far more people than Bros. Seems to qualify as a gay rom com (unless you're Russian, no com for you).

Through no fault of his own, Billy Eichner's film was outcompeted by a Telegram short clip.

Yes, I know. But it's still funny.

Is this problematic? Are Russians white? Do Ukranians have privilege compared to the Russians?

I have family in Kherson (in a city across the river, Oleshky). They are struggling with food, and spending their time in their cellar. They are my sister in law's parents. The loveliest people you could meet. Their daughter lives in Norway, and is married to my brother.

What Russia is doing is completely wrong, it's a fascist regime attacking a free democratic nation. Now they say that Kherson Oblast (oblast is like a state), is part of Russia. It's insane. Now I really hope that Ukraine can take back Kherson city, even if it won't help my relatives short term, as they are on the other side of the river.

I remember at the onset of this invasion you were talking about your family there. Now it's been 7+ months and they and others have had to endure the unthinkable. I'm hoping that in the end everything turns out ok for your family and the other families struggling through this, and Putin is held accountable.

Seems impossible for Ukraine to retake everything (including Crimea, double plus impossible) before winter hits. Any chance Ukraine negotiates to a frozen conflict like Georgia did? Waiting out the winter for a spring offensive when western armories are fairly depleted seems like giving Russia almost enough time to unf*ck their mobilization.

Think the winter will be very difficult for both sides. Don’t expect the Ukrainian advances to continue then, and spring is impossible for me to predict. Ukraine taking Kherson City before winter would be a massive boost.
