Has Argo always been this wise? Or did the factory change him?

Three days as a factory worker and Argo's already agitating for seizing the means of production

Yeah, but he's not your uncle.

Be a better nephew, Argo.

Try to find joy in your labor. Try to be good at your work. Try to be proud of your accomplishments.

But if you can't find joy or if you aren't able to pull off anything worth being proud of, don't beat yourself up about it. It's really OK. You're the only one who cares. It's ok to stop caring.

argo's like the one RMer whose occupation is known because he's talked about it enough.

Well, he was the sexiest librarian. Definitely worth noting.

The decision was made this week. That guy I was concerned with, is now my boss.
Here’s where I’m at with it though - he and I get along great but he tends to delegate too much (and he delegates it to me … lol) - he essentially handed his original job off to me when I started with company, and I have a feeling that it will end up happening again (delegation). Which begs the question, should I just accept this because the end result of it could be that I’ll qualify for his job at some point? I had been feeling like I should polish up my resume and I will probably still do that.

I’m the most senior member of the business division’s marketers. I’m one step away from the product line business leader. Now you guys know what I do for a living.

I suppose I had a lot of anxiety about things as my boss retired. Worrying about how the change would affect our progress and growth. Probably should be grateful that my delegating coworker was given the job, rather than a complete stranger to our business coming in and potentially taking us off track unintentionally.

Thanks for letting me express this to RM, even if nobody cares. I think things have been sorted. We had a nice off-site team meeting yesterday and I felt like maybe I have changed also, because I have always been more open and close to my coworkers than my boss per se.

Now, any new team member we hire, will roll up under the people who are familiar with things, rather than a new person coming in to change several people and move us in different directions. The GM said he didn’t want our momentum to alter.

I don’t know. At any rate - the stress of the unknown was definitely lifted off my shoulders yesterday.

I just read my late night post back and it is very funny. I was writing in a journal every night for a couple years between 2019 and 2021. Many of the entries are very much ravings along those lines. Madness.

pep: don't do your boss's job for your salary. Demand your moolah or refuse tasks. I don't know how to effect this, it seems like a difficult thing to do, so I wish you luck
