I thought for sure it was going to Sharp. Kane was a bit of a surprise. Those last two minutes were insane--you could tell the Bruins were sort of stunned, they couldn't even get a shot on goal after that.

Wanted it to be Boston because of the marathon thing earlier in the year, but content to see Chicago take it. I work with people from both cities, happy for some, sad for the others. Even at the start of the season people were saying it'd be Chicago, but Boston's a city with a full mantle. That town really doesn't need another championship in the trophy case, does it? Didn't think there was any more room.

question: how is the shaw-puck-to-the-face play any different than the campbell-broken-leg-play? in both situations a player is obviously hurt and down, but the offensive team has possession. why then does the whistle get blown in one situation and not the other? i don't blame the play for the Bs loss, i was just so confused by it and my wife certainly couldn't explain it to me.

It's to prevent the defensive team from taking a dive when they are getting beat on the play. But in Shaw's case, he was out cold and in Campbell's he got up and moved around, so he still in the play.

And since we're talking Shaw...

Because one got hit in the face and the other in the leg. If Shaw had lost an eye or died while the Bruins were scoring, it'd kind of make the NHL look bad.

Doesn't the commissioner do enough of that on his own?

i dont think the commish is nearly as incompetent as people make him out to be.

his job is to grow hockey as a sport not cater to those who feel entitled

im sure its the TV that dictates who they want to see on TV and that is their right since they pay an arm and a leg to brodcast it

if i have one complaint it is he should day fine, but you have to have each team on prime time at least once
better handling of suspensions

I don't either. He works for the owners, I'm sure if it was up to him they wouldn't have had the lockouts. And for everyone that said this last lockout would be terrible for the NHL, they had record ratings on NBC and NBCSN. The only thing I'll give him crap for is the situation in Phoenix, it was time to shit or get off the pot about two years ago.
