durdencommatyler wrote:I look forward to your thoughts. It's been at least a decade since I've seen it. So, it may not really hold up. But I remember it being really solid, for the most part. I saw it several times in theaters and then on home video, too.
i've heard rickman is great, but the film overall is kinda meh...my expectations aren't high, but i hope to find it at least somewhat enjoyable
Rickman is amazing in it. Yes. I'm positive you'll love him in it.

i don't even care if this sucks, i just have an irrational love for kevin costner
i actually enjoyed this...despite some unavoidable cliches of underdog sports films, this was engaging and really cared about it's characters
I'm glad you liked it.
you haven't seen it, have you?
Oh heavens no.
give it a shot!
what are your thoughts on kevin costner?
Ambivalence.
In general, I tend to find him underwhelming. But his sports related movies tend to be really strong.
i don't think he's this amazing actor or anything, but he has a certain presence that i find appealing...he seems to be passionate about his work and the business as well
He also pretty much invented whisper-acting. Which is pretty cool.
should i watch robin hood? he seems completely miscast for that role, but i feel like i should still give it a try
Absolutely watch it, yes. He's not amazing in it or anything. But he's fine. He doesn't do an accent. Big whoop. But the rest of the movie more than makes up for whatever he lacks. It's a good movie.
Does he not do an accent or does he do a really bad accent?

Prince of Thieves is an average movie but Rickman's performance has to be seen to be believed. He is AMPED.

I was also super into Christian Slater at the time. So that helped amp up my love for it. And Michael Wincott!

i have a few in mind, but i'm not sure which direction i will go...i've thought about going with something highly regarded that i didn't like, or found underwhelming

I think I'm up after ST. Which means I'll be in Mexico and away from internet access the two weeks that I'm supposed to pick.

I'll probably just pick a movie I've seen a ton and then let others talk about it. And I'll read their thoughts and jump in when I get back.

Mascots was fun.
Parker Posey is amazing, as usual.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Begin Again.
Well, that was cool. I really appreciate the ending...The not-love story this was. And Ruffalo was good.
