Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I just feel the performance could have been so much more. Almost every production and performance decision taken, was the easy option. It could have been anyone playing that track. It also shows some weaknesses in their playing (IMO).
I'm listening now....
It's an okay start but that fucking organ is awful. Ed annoys me a lot in this. The strings push it unnecessarily and the bass is just awful. No imagination at all. I think I might like a hushed solo Ed version of this but not enough to choose to play it. It's just an okay track.

I don't remember doing this at all but I bet it was hilarious.dimejinky99 wrote:Far more likely that he's been duped like I was and is listening to some record by some obscure band misrepresented as Pj
Honest mistake. I've done it.
Kevin davis even deigned to call me an ignoramus from his high horse over it.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I just searched the old board for "ignoramus" and found a post from October 2010 that I suspect Dime is referring to. Impressive that you would recall such a thing right down to the exact word from three years ago, but still, hugely disappointing post--not only was it not hilarious, but I wasn't on nearly the high horse I'd expected to find myself on, and in truth I was only sort of indirectly calling you an ignoramus, and I think I meant it more in the "uninformed person" sense rather than the "complete and total imbecile" sense, which I concede is the more common definition. Still--impressed you remembered.

This is the Red Mosquito Pearl Jam message board, it is important and interesting all the time.Lounge Lizard wrote:Did I miss something important or interesting since yesterday?
In this very thread we are currently on page 596 of interesting and important.
See further threads for more examples of this.

To everyone asking "did anything important happen since _____?": I suggest you just browse through the main page of PJ Chat. If anything of note happened... if a new song, video, interview or tidbit came to light, it's guaranteed to have a corresponding thread within seconds. This way you won't have to trawl through hundreds of pages of various RMers having mini mental breakdowns about Pearl Jam.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Why didn't someone mention this earlier!? Like on page three or something! I just read through almost 600 pages and had several major mental breakdowns in the process. This bit of wisdom could have saved me days of grief and no fewer than two separate trips to the hospital. I now seem to be developing a serious chemical dependency problem too. Thanks dicks.theplatypus wrote:To everyone asking "did anything important happen since _____?": I suggest you just browse through the main page of PJ Chat. I'm sorry, I'll have to remember to use some lube next time. It appears I went in fast and dry, and your anus is smarting as a result. Please accept my apologies.evenslow wrote:I'm tired of people slagging off on my lady Just Breathe. There ain't nothing wrong with Just Breathe. Dude it's not like they are releasing Sex On Fire. What are they supposed to release as a single?? a song nobody likes but us diehard fans? Wouldn't that be beating the purpose of why anyone releases singles? You release a single to get radio play so people will want your album and come to your shows.
Don't you want to keep going to shows? If they stop being able to sell enough tickets, I think they would stop being a band. I hope the single they release is a huge hit. I think they need it. Then they can No Code the fuckers on the next album and it can all start over again.

"i do know, that BoB has had A LOT to do with many records outside of pearl jam that he has worked on. for example, playing all the guitar solo's, and most of the bass parts on the Black Crows record he did. However i dont see PJ letting him get quite that involved. but he plays the keys parts.. so.... who knows."
Is this true, about the Black Keys? One of them should've keyed his fucking car.
No, I mean Crows... not Keys.
