Yeah I was in town a few months back and was surprised by that too. The house that Thon Maker built.

Kawhi is sitting out because the spurs are not one of the two teams that have a chance this year and he doesn't want to lose money on his next contract by playing bad off injury. Not complicated.

They are both NBA players who get offered varying amounts of millions based on a variety of factors, one of which would be question marks surrounding an injury.
