Yeah it's great. I was a little nervous this time around because, of the ceremonies I've done, this is the couple I'm the least close with; I'm only really friends with the bride, and I haven't known her for super long. But it all worked out great

My niece just got engaged. I told them that if they don’t get married in the church, I could officiate. It was (kind of) a joke. But they agreed, and are now leaning that way. I’m terrified and filled with regret.

As long as you keep from openly wishing for the death of any elderly guests you will be fine

So in February, we will have been in this house for 4 years. Some of you may recall it’s 120+ years old. So areas of drafts in winter we pretty much expect. Odds and ends things just come with a house this old. Well, every winter we’ve been in it, the back of the house is always like 20 or so degrees cooler than the front of the house. There is ductwork running to that area of the house, but they’re the farthest away from the unit so it doesn’t really help that much. On mornings where the temp outside is, say below 30, the back of the house is in the 40s. So about a week ago whenever it started getting down into the 30s here at night I started thinking about this. The lady we bought the house from practically only lived in the back of the house. She never used the front for anything. And she had to be keeping herself warm in the winter. Hell, we bought it in February and it wasn’t cold back there then. We have a gas fireplace in the very back room. It hasn’t been on since we moved in because we could never find how to turn it on. Determined, today I started pulling and tugging all over the front of this thing and low and behold I found the panel from which this thing operates. Got it on and it’s been going for about 3 hours now. To the point it’s actually hot back there. I feel like an imbecile for not figuring this out before but also feel great that it won’t be freezing cold in the back of the house this winter. Hopefully, running this thing won’t raise our utilities too much.

We still have a number of wall switches throughout the house that don’t do anything as far as we can tell. Bizarre.

There are three of those multi switches that have three in them and only one in each of them work.

Father-in-Law is having gallbladder surgery this afternoon. Mrs Wease asked her mom a few days ago if they just wanted to stay with us after the surgery since they live an hour away and it would most likely be dark by the time he was ready to leave. She said no…
Until about 2 hours ago. They decided he could just sleep on our fold-out couch and MiL will sleep in the guest room. So now I just finished the Emergency Quick Clean. This is worse than a pop-in visit.
