I'd love to go, but there's no way I can buy tickets for something next June. That feels like a million years away.

I'm tempted, but I feel like this will be a very subdued tour, which I'm not really into. I doubt it could live up to when I saw him on the Dig Lazarus Dig tour.

If this brand of music about a kid who fell to his death tragically doesn't fit for you, you could always just go to an Eric Clapton concert.

I saw him w/ Bad Seeds in 96 and it was amazing. Saw the Boatman's Call tour which was him solo and it was good.

For what it's worth, I went to the "Push the Sky Away" tour thinking it was going to be a relatively tame show, and it was wild. I can't imagine he'd put on anything less than an awesome show.

I've only listened to Dig, Lazarus, Dig. Where do I go next? I'm going to check out Skeleton Tree, but is there something that's essential? Maybe something that's on the heavier side and not subdued.

If you like DLD, check out Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus next.

Oh and be sure to listen to Grinderman, too.

Tender Prey, Henry's Dream, and Let Love In are the other essential records if you dig Lazarus, IMO.

Which of their albums should I start with?

"Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus" is my favorite. There is also some fun stuff on "Dig Lazarus Dig" that would probably be pretty enjoyable to a first-timer (like the title track and "More News from Nowhere").

I would say the greatest hits collection he put out like 16 years ago is really good.
