The “add on” Far Cry games always seem more interesting than the base games.

I bet it will be better than 5. Won't take much.

It is a direct sequel guys so i don't know if i'd expect too much of a departure. FWIW i liked 5 though it was far from stellar just more of the same. Looks like it takes places in the same (highly altered) map as 5. At first glance visually it looks like Far Cry and Horizon Zero Dawn had a neon baby. For 40 bucks i'm in.

Kirk Hamilton is leaving Kotaku to pursue music. I've always enjoyed his contributions to the site, even when I disagree or roll my eyes at them. Hope he continues to write some stuff here and there.

Wow. Not sure which industry is in worse shape: music or journalism.
Music journalism.

Resident Evil 2 looks great. Should be a good one to visit in the summer with a slight discount.

I just came on here to most about RE2! Received my copy last night but haven't played it yet. The reviews are very strong thus far via metacritic (91%). I vividly remember playing the original on PS1 over 20 years ago.

I've never played it. Let us know what you think of it.

Yes, and there is always some sort or incentive to play through RE games again and again.

Never played one, TBH. Gameplay doesn’t appeal to me at all.

I think there are some cinematic/tone elements you would really like. There's a free demo available if you wanted to check it out.

8 hrs feels short for a game like this. That's like 3 or 4 sessions

8 hours is on the short side for a game these days but the reviews are saying the re-playability is pretty high. Critics also calling it the best RE game since RE4 (which is heralded as the best one if you're a fan of the series). There's a ton of garbage RE releases from Capcom, but the good ones are definitely worth checking out. The voice acting has always been atrocious b movie quality so don't go in expecting some Red Dead experience, but the graphics, sounds and overall mood are what RE is known for.
