Maybe they didn't misunderstand it, but regardless of the reason they definitely got it wrong.

Chasing Amy was an instant favorite to me, i saw it on the theatres and loved it.
Same. It's pretty embarrassing now to think I once rooted for Affleck to get the girl.
I hated his character. I guess i was a little fucking progressive kid? But i totally got Alisa.

Also, this is a good read

Just saw the first hour, and i really liked the doc so far. Man, what a memory trip too...She was something else with JLP. I was also in love with her of course.

But those songs are untouchable, and those 1995 shows were fucking intense.

Finished Jagged. i loved it. I thought it was a comprehensive view to that era and that album, with great footage, great interviews...super tasteful too.

Not sure why she didnt liked it really, there is nothing here that strikes me as polemic.

Also, damn this girl....Im sure ill be listening to JLP all week and maybe Supposed....too. Hell, maybe a few more!

I'm still weighing it in my mind. But if I do decide to watch it, I'll post all my thoughts. Have no doubt about that.

Its not polemic at all.
Im not sure why Alanis was mad with it, im sure its a good story, but its not a disrespectful or distasteful. Also great footage, i mean i want some shows from that era cmon, release them.
