I'd be 100% fine with a different actor playing "young Luke." I think it's a dumb idea to make those movies in general. But a different actor playing that character has nothing to do with it. I think getting hung up on a different actor is a little silly, personally. Makes zero sense to me.

Yeah, honestly, Luke is a great character. And if they decide they need to fill in more of his story, I'm fine with it. :heartbeat:

I dont think it will happen just because we are going to see luke as an elder jedi in the next - maybe 2 - movies.

Luke didnt become something interesting until he crossed paths with Obi Wan. There is no story there.

Also, he was the original trilogy story. Luke is done and he's perfect.

Scratch that.

I would like to see Luke between Empire and Jedi.

The first thing we see from luke in Jedi is him proclaiming himself as a Jedi. Clearly he is not, but it is quite the leap from getting his hand cut off and crying to proclaiming himself a jedi.

So, yea. Id like that story.

Alas, that ship has sailed.

We will probably get a book or two about Luke's years in between Jedi and force awakens.

This is what I was thinking. Although I don't think he's actually a Jedi Knight until the end of RotJ, he definitely advances a ton in the year between V and VI. He must've seen a lot of shit, and I'd like to see it too.

Looking forward to these, though I'd rather have movies.

I would say after Ep 8 we'll get them.

I agree. But there's enough of a time gap between 5 & 6 (especially) and 6 & 7, that if they wanted to explore some things, they certainly could. But I'm team you.

I'd love a book or books on that time. Even a film. But sometimes leaving things a mystery is better.

I can see them leaving Luke in that bracket. He's more powerful if you don't know.

That said. The next issue of the Star Wars comic (26) is the yoda issue. Set long before the prequels. Excited to read that.

I know he got $4 billion and has points on all Star Wars films and products in perpetuity,

But Lucas kinda sold Lucasfilm meaning Star Wars, for buttons really didn't he?

Yes. It's absurd and frankly stupid that he only got 4 billion out of it. I get that it was 4 billion CASH. But still. He could have easily moved it for double that in cash and triple or quadruple otherwise. But it's not like he needs the money. Also, he's still making coin on the profits and the merch. So...

DcT
Listened to this today. Podcast interview with the author of the new Lucas biography. Actually really enlightening. He was never about money. Just artistic my way or the Fuck off and die way.

I'll read this after listening to this.
