I am doing that in a systematic way. I even built a macro so if a band name starts with "the" it will delete the "the" so the alphabetized list won't be messed up. I am checking it myself, too. The data will be clean, that I pledge.

I just don't want to be the arbiter of what counts as a different artist. There are too many

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are obviously better than Tom Petty. I'm honestly not sure what sort of depraved maniac would vote for Tom Petty as a solo artist hahahahahaha

Full Moon Fever, Wildflowers, and Highway Companion are three of my favorite Petty releases. Also, aren't some (most?) of The Heartbreakers featured on those solo albums?

Yeah but Tom Petty solo records are still essentially TPatHB albums. In fact, the best one is technically solo but not really.

This was precisely my point and it also extends to Bruce Springsteen for nearly all of his career except the 1990s.

Also, some of Petty’s best work was technically solo. Full Moon Fever and Wildflowers are both A+ albums nearly front to back, and Highway Companion is at worst a B+ album that is the segue leading into his final set of Heartbreakers albums (Mojo & Hypnotic Eye). They all I believe include Mike Campbell at all times and included other Heartbreakers individually on the tracks but not always all together.

already found two discrepancies. One person misspelled "Creedence" and another didn't put the dash between Wu and Tang. This is fun

The RM Hall of Fame has been pulled off successfully twice, both times muscled through thanks to the sheer force of my will and my conviction that it is a valuable part of RM. I'm less emotionally invested in this project, but so far it is going well
