Fear Street part 1: 1994.
Man, what a blast!! super gory, looked gorgeous and how fun to hear White Zombie, Soundgarden and NIN. Also, 1994 what a great year it was.
Looking forward to the sequel.

Candyman (1992).
Man, what a treat. Great framing, good scares, super bloody and Virginia Madsen. A true classic.

I found this Australian movie when I was browsing called "Sweet River" which looks right up my street based on the synopsis, but I can't find much about it and I want to know something before I waste money on renting it

I took the gamble and this was everything I hoped it would be -- a quietly eery, beautifully shot and acted ghost story along the lines of "The Devil's Backbone" Del Toro, and (a more serious) "Children of the Corn"

Candyman (2021)
man, that was awesome. Nia Da Costa, what a talent...the movie looks glorious, its super bloody and have so many layers. Candyman is super menacing, the body horror is great...fuck, what a ride.
- Spoiler: show
- While i looooved the concept of Anthony turning into Candyman, and it also puts a new spin to the ending of the first movie, i would loved some more Tony Todd here...BUT the final shot is so good. Really awesome....can we get a sequel to this soon??

The new Texas Chainsaw sequel is going straight to Netflix.
Kind of a bummer....i was exited because Fede Alvarez was producing but the last good thing he did was Dont Breathe i guess...so who knows.

I had heard nothing about this but am quite pleased that it is not a remake of the original.

during lockdown I got so used to everything being released straight to my TV that now, the whole concept of the cinema feels like an affront to my happiness

I am also looking forward to this quite a bit. Wan sounds like he wants to venture out of the wheelhouse with a direct focus on horror so
