Yes but they are 60+ Rockwell hardness blades hand sharpened under the ancient honbazuke method to a screamingly sharp 8-12 degrees

Some of the reviews don't look too hot for these Hattori Hanzō blades, chief.

He was a line cook. He has a love of cooking. I guarantee you, he’s finicky about what equipment he uses.

I think you mean the fact that he told me not to worry about a gift since I'm traveling + officiating, right? If so, he's not expecting anything from me, so this would just be a bonus. But yeah, I hear you guys. I'll just straight up tell him the truth and ask if he wants them.

I dunno man, I know a thing or two about kitchen knives and I think these are among the best set you can get at this price. Like I said, I already own two knives from this series (I even posted about them earlier in this thread) and they feel, handle, and look really great. I enjoy cooking much more than I did before getting them.

But I went down the full rabbit hole. I bought whetstones and learned how to manually sharpen them. I took an online knife skills class. I started reading up about types of steel and sharpening methods. The pandemic was a weird time

A wedding gift is for both of them not something “he wants.”

If you’re so intent on getting them for him, buy something from the registry for the both of them, then just get the knives for him. He’s your brother so you can be allowed to get him a gift as well as one to both of them.
