for around 225 you can get a nice house (built in the 60's but updated)

i just do not like owing money on things. as soon as my utilities are due i pay them ASAP.

i want to get about 60-70K saved up as a downpayment. get a 30 year mortgage and then make about 6 extra payments a year towards the principal and get it paid down faster

I definitely relate. The only reason I’m not paying my car off early is 0% interest and wanting to hold back money for a potential home down payment

If you think you'll be able to afford that many extra payments, maybe you can just get a 15 year mortgage and a better interest rate

it was told to me that if you can make the extra payments at 30 it is better because the rates are a little lower on a 30 year than a 15 but i could have been told incorrectly

looks like we're staying up here until whenever...we are going to rent out our California place furnished..we will go down in march and get stuff we need and store some stuff but other than that we'll rent it for a year minimum..we will start renting this place from our friends starting in April for at least a year of not longer until we decide to buy something and hopefully sell California if the timing is right...feels good

I think it’s just kind of like the attic but is considered one of the bedrooms. The kitchen floor is meh but for 150 what can you really ask for

The carpet room, while clearly the work of a lunatic, would be good for movies and music

Landscaping is a hidden cost.

there were some large trees they had removed which makes the natural light a bit better in the place

im not sure why im fixated on this place but i may just let it go
