How does this make you feel? If you're angry, do you even know why? Is she being rude, or do you have an irrational need to fill the space?

It's impractical. Has nothing to do with the empty space in front of her. There are more variables to this scenario. If she's doing that at the beginning of the entry, it will unnecessarily cause a mess and confusion behind the entry. Most airports are busy enough that the line will bleed into another. It's not as though there is unlimited space. Even if nobody confronts her, after a few minutes they will either walk by or crawl under the rope. For me, it would be more annoyance than anger. If she has a better idea of how a line of this nature can function without any of the above being an issue, I would love to hear it. But otherwise I can only conclude she's either selfish or being obtuse.

I’d say it’s the arrogance of the woman to assume she better understands crowd movement/mgmt than airport officials that pisses me off the most. Which is what normally pisses me off about Burt posts too.
