Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

That's an interesting thought. Why do you like it more than their other stuff? It definitely marks a shift in "feel" for them.
might have something to do with the production, but it's also probably their least heavy/poppiest album. I don't know, for me it just totally clicks. Betty would come in second and then maybe Strap It On. Don't care for Meantime, or the new stuff, although I haven't listened to much of the new stuff. Oh, also the lyrics on Aftertaste are like my favourite lyrics ever.
Understandable. I think that's actually part of why it doesn't work for me as much; I prefer the heavier sound. Not that the album is bad or anything, though.

Their new stuff is enjoyable but disposable. "See You Dead" is a pretty kickass song, though.

I'm listening to All I Know by the Screaming Trees. Probably their best song. For two albums they were just unbelievably good.

ha just listened to that for the first time like an hour ago. Also, Strap it On is pretty heavy but it has a less alienating sound in my opinion.

I may prefer Sweet Oblivion, but they're both fantastic.

I think it was their best album. The others were kind of patchy or sound awfully dated nowadays.

silverchair had a damn good tune off that "godzilla" soundtrack from '98.
Silverchair is a fucking awesome band.

Agreed very underrated.

I also really like Soul Asylum. Misery is always a karaoke go to for me.

I heard The Offspring's Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) on the radio the other day and I'm now gripped by the curious urge to listen to Smash for the first time since I was in high school.

The Offspring have a lot of good stuff. My mate put their greatest hits DVD on one night not too long ago - I remember being surprised how much I enjoyed it!

So should this thread and the new 90's one be merged?
