I’ve come to sort of loathe Porch over the last decade or so, and last night revealed to me it was 100% about it being the obligatory first set finisher. In the 2 slot, it felt vital. Garden into Porch was phenomenal. As Wease mentioned, it was a mistake to kill that momentum with the Wishlist and Come Back - not quite Arms Aloft after Release at PJ20 dumb, but almost.

Throw Your Arms Around Me is best-case scenario for the Ed solo slot. That with Falling Slowly and Glen on Smile was my favorite run of the night. Why the fuck they played Setting Sun after that and again boggles the mind. I love the song, but it doesn’t need to be played every night, and it certainly doesn’t need to be in this spot. If they’d played Breath or Leash here instead, this would have been the perfect encore.
I agree with every word except I don’t loathe Porch.

Words can’t describe the transition from Porch to Wishlist. I’d love to know the reason why they put Porch at number two. It totally fucking worked and if they’d gone from Porch to straight-out rocker, the crowd would’ve been frenzied. It’s like having to shit really, REALLY bad and getting 12 feet from the bathroom door and not being able to hold it any longer. The shit just goes all over you. That’s what it felt like. So I guess I did have words to describe it.

Is it Porch that makes you want to shit, or is Wishlist the laxative in this scenario?

They had the baseball diamond thing blocked off and no seating or anyone on it?

What kind of dunbass shit is that? I don’t know anything about baseball but the grassy space in the diamond isn’t even used in the game is it?

Dumbasses
Every concert at a baseball stadium is structured like this. Jeez, I just remembered why I quit coming round here... Lots of whiny, entitled, uninformed, insufferable, buzzkill opinions. Grow up and try to be happy, RM!

To be fair to Dime, he’s probably never been to a concert at an American baseball stadium

i havent. I didnt know this happened though. seems ridiculous. i get the complaints about using them as venues now, if this is the usual set up / MO

No the complaint is the sound sucks in them. And it does.

i believe you but it doesnt make sense. Youd imagine the stands at the back and all the bodies would be great for absorbing the sound. Maybe its the odd curve on them

If people were allowed on the infield, they would fuck it up, and if you were in the lower level, behind home plate, you wouldn't be able to see anything from behind the massive soundboard.

Also, from the back row of section 422, the sound was much better than expected.

I was very pleased to see PJ in the Friendly Confines.

Night 2 sounded much more balanced and mixed than night 1.

Also, after having seen it twice now, it’s a disservice for Setting Sun to be late in the encore. It would be much better suited in the opening run or even as opener.
