First off, getting in to this venue is incredibly easy. Despite it being ensconced in drab brown concrete highway off-ramps, it's not an entirely demoralizing experience to enter the parking lot when there is no giant line and no struggle to find parking.

Everyone tailgating was civilized and in a good mood. And lo and behold, the storm clouds that covered the venue at around 6pmish gave way to a sunshower and a massive rainbow, and then at one point double rainbow. The rainbow was so thick you felt like you could reach out and grab it. It was like ribbing with echo texture. If anyone took mushrooms before the show they were in for a treat. No doubt they stared at that thing and were convinced god was telling them something. Hopefully it was not something angry (god gets angry sometimes!)

Entering the venue was easy. Despite my bitching at the ticket prices, i happened to get Club level seats, which meant a separate entrance from the peasants. Even better, there was only a single escalator up, and bam our own giant bar; and not one, but two sets of bathrooms, just for our section. And they were clean. As an aging man that frequently urinates, I was ecstatic. And as someone who just ate an italian hero and two giant beers in the parking lot, I was delighted to find that I got greens on the toilet for a relaxing #2. Super clean crapping experience. Never would have thought that in a concert venue.

Got to the seats and they were some kind of cushy pleather. Side stage Mike McCready side. Booyah.

Glen was playing as we arrived. I am so ignorant I didnt realize he did an electric set. They sounded great. Whatever the last two songs were they closed with really resonated with the crowd. It was pretty full already even for just an opening act. Good stuff.

The band came on at 8:45pm basically on the dot as advertised. Was not expecting that. The crowd energy was high. Saturday show. People were happy.

And then the show began .... those Long Road chords. Boom. This is how a pearl jam show begins. Remember? For years, this was the opener. Then they got away from it. But this one begins with long road.... and was well-received. So happy to hear this one. A little fast, but it's Long Road. We're doing No Code, already. Thank god. Time to go to church

1. Long Road - mike came out jonesing. circling with energy. he always has energy but he came out looking like he was ready to go
2. Low Light - high energy version. crowd was in a good mood. ed noticed the energy. i have not been a fan of seeing this #2 on the setlists, but this one was fine. After Long Road, little more pace and energy, still kinda slow burning. All good.
3. Why Go - always love this in the #3ish spot in the set to get the crowd ramping up... crowd responded. go time. Jeff doing big tings on his big bass. now we get to scream 'fuck' together
4. Brain of J. - was not expecting this! and when they slammed into the chords the crowd went nuts. good crowd. knows yield songs. great energy. rockin out
5. React, Respond - this came out well. i am not a DM guy. All the DM songs were performed well. this worked just fine
6. Dark Matter - I enjoyed this. it was over relatively quickly. but the guitars sounded good. again not the stinker experience i was fearing. crowd stayed with it.
7. Given to Fly - more yield! everyone ecstatic. Ed prefaced with a speech about j. gaudreau who passed away. intense
8. Wreckage - this came on and i kind of had to pee but I feel like the setlists this tour they would play this and then something good after, and I didnt want to miss whatever was after. So i stuck around and watched., People enjoyed this. It was fine enough. Again the DM songs came out well
9. Even Flow - HYAAAWWWW time to pee. fortunately we had our own bathrooms in the seating section. no big line. as I peed, I turned to the two guys at the urinals next to me and said 'we are peeing during even flow' and they laughed and were like 'no better song to let it flow' ... grabbed another giant brewski and back in time for most of mike's solo
10. Do the Evolution - hell yeah. this song churns live. like a dark black locomotive. Stone's chords. And stone's solo. love stone. OG DTE music video on the screen. some guy had his 8 year old with him on his shoulders in GA and Ed was talking to them at one point (a few songs back). I wondered what that kid must have thought of this video. I forgot about all the crosses and swastikah type stuff. heavy
11. Untitled - very little dittle of this but we knew what was coming... Ed didnt sing the verses. just dittled a couple of these chords. is it 1998 again? thanks for the yield!
12. MFC - boom. was not expecting this! More yield. everyone ecstatic. i never thought i would be so happy to hear MFC. had been a while. groovin
13. Red Mosquito - holy moly we're getting yield and no code tunes. mike shredding. sound quality was great. band was on. crowd loved it. love a slide guitar
14. Won't Tell - again, the DM songs came across well. i don't really know them, but was not the total 'air got sucked out of the room' feeling i feared. was fine
15. Black/We Belong Together - Black! This is one of the greats. Nothing like a singalong with 40k people
16. Breath - oh baby when this hit i jumped for joy. also was not expecting this. OG. thank you so much. crowd screaming their lungs out. big arena energy tings
17. Running - i was happy enough on the heels of breath i didnt need to make fun of this song as it came on. it was high energy and over soon enough
18. RVM - booyah. Vs classic. and ofc end of setlist one. always happy to hear this tune

19. I Won't Back Down - Ed solo on a red tele. I guess it was Tom's. He told a story about them giving it to him. I had a lot of beer so kind of can't remember. But the rendition was great. Big sing a long. A lot of people in the crowd knew the tune
20. Daughter/Free Fallin' - Daughter gets me lifted. not a big / long tag or jam. but healthy enough rendition. reminiscing about the country youth i never had
21. Last Exit - omg we are getting vitalogy! no new stuff. no new stuff. loved this. sometimes it comes out clunky, this one came out fine
22. Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns - i am not a big MLB guy but again after 82 beers when this comes on IRL I am ready to put on the lipstick and glitter and glam out
23. State of Love and Trust - yes
24. Alive - yes
25. Baba O'Riley - yes
26. Indifference - stop playing this. mattspeed, lights on. we just did a great run of songs, everyone loving it. and you close with this stinker about being a loser. stop it. just end at baba then. play RITFW. play anything. anything else. this was not a delicate version with detectable synths. this was a crappy fast weird lights on version and a stupid way to end the show

but we forgive you cause it was pretty great otherwise
