It is a classic. Still a top 5 of the 60+ I’ve been to.
Not just because of Breathe. The show was a barn burner front to back. I wish there were a commercially released version of this show. They were on fire that night. Breathe was just the icing on the cake.

this was a completely unique show for me. after seeing saturday's show with my best friend who i've seen like 30 shows with, i told my wife I wanted her to come with me Monday. she doesn't like concerts, she's seen pj once the last time they were in Camden, and we were in the pit. but after saturday i really wanted her to experience it again. I ended up scoring lower level seats near mike's side day-of.

it was awesome. she said she recognized way more than she expected, including DotC and In My Tree, which made me proud lol. She love's 'wreckage' b/c we've heard it on the radio a lot. she knows the hits, so im glad they played small town, betterman, corduroy, evenflow, etc. I scared her when porch started b/c they didn't do that slow start they've been doing. i get excited easily lol. also EV is fucking hilarious and she mentioned how funny he is on stage.

i promised her we could leave early, but i wanted to see what ed would play solo. 'just breathe' was part of our wedding, so this was obviously the most special part of the night. when glenn hansard came out we stayed to hear one more quiet one, then we were off.

until i heard the start of 'waiting for stevie'. i asked her if we could stay for this one song, and of course she was cool with it. i love this woman lol.

Very weird. I hadn't encountered that kind of thing at a PJ show before. Especially in NYC.
NYC shows get a lot of people buying tickets and not necessarily fans, again especially MSG.
I'd seen them there before. This crowd was very different. But you make a fair and good point.

This isn't that controversial for anyone who attended. There is no boot I've listened to more since ATL '94.

Hotter take: Possibly the best show of mid-era Pearl Jam.

This feels good yes? For a couple of guys who've been hammering on about him on rm for at least 18 years - glad at least one more person as excited!

Sounds like he's blowing the roof off the dump.

Can't wait to see him again Thursday! Maybe ruddo will finally come around

It DID seem different to me too. It was quieter than some of the best shows I've been to in NY (MSG 2022 was insanely loud) and while the crowd this year seemed mostly happy the new stuff had no reception, which was odd as I expected NY to have diehard fans. But they mostly sat down and didn't react to even Waiting for Stevie

city has always been expensive but got crazy expensiver after the pandemic

a lot of people moved out during the pandemic, new people moved in

show was on weeknights right after labor day

ticketmaster rolled out mega-expensive pricing

all of the above could have been a contributing factor to the difference in crowd

I thought it was the calmest crowd of the 5 PJ MSG concerts that I've been to.

I thought night 1 was MARGINALLY better crowd-wise than Night 2? But both were similar levels.

What really baffled me was the Lightning Bolt songs (Pendulum and Mind Your Manners) seemed to get very good reception/excitement in Night 1, and crowds singing along, while Dark Matter songs got very little.

What Pearl Jam fans are there that know and love Lightning Bolt but don't care about Dark Matter? I was so confused by that

I was on the floor and all the DM stuff slayed. Everyone around me knew all the words and seemed super into it. So, maybe I was just in more of a fan section?
