dude try to be a kid and renting some movie you thought its the sequel of another one, because it literally says part 2 and then nope, it does not have anything to do with that movie

Just saw it again. On the verge of outright loving this. A few moments of near-giddiness (face hugger chase scenes). The visual effects, especially during the climax, are pretty spectacular. [REDACTED] still looks like ass initially.

I still loathe the “get away from her…” line but I noticed, this time, that they laid some groundwork prior to that moment with various insults hurled Andy’s way.

For more reasons than one, they should’ve called this Renaissance instead of Romulus.

Haven’t been fully spoiled about this movie yet, hoping to sneak into a matinee when the kids start school next week.

Pretty damn good. Cailee Spaeny (Rain) and David Jonsson (Andy) absolutely nailed their parts. Everyone else was kinda average, but that's okay. Amazing set design, except for the goo caves which looked quite cheap at times. I loved that Rook played such a big part. God he looked awful though. I guess the funds dried up. $80m isn't a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. If you had told me the film cost ~$150-200m, I'd have believed you. I think they did an incredible job.

Oh, and way too many callbacks to the original films for my liking, but I guess that's modern cinema in a nutshell. Still, very enjoyable overall!

This just hit $350m at the box office. Amazing. The franchise needed this!

I got the prequel comic and was mildly disappointed at its brevity. The story feels like it spans about 20 minutes of time and features a character doing one of the dumbest things in the history of the Alien franchise. :shake:

To its credit, the story expands on Rook's character and motivations a bit such that he's not quite the cold, emotionless monster you may have come away from Romulus thinking he is.

The one-eyed security officer who wanted to kill the alien somehow thinking it was a good idea to turn off the stasis mechanism Rook had been maintaining.
