Ruddo is fighting having to take a shit and stops to shop for $1 opera CDs. The man is an enigma.
It is hard to shit in Manhattan. I had to walk like six blocks back to the apartment to drop my dump. I didn't feel like heading back to the store, but wanted to make sure I took advantage of their prices!

McKay’s is legit. I frequent the ones in Nashville and Knoxville often. Haven’t been to with it the Carolina ones or the Chattanooga one yet.

The Mebane one is gorgeous. I just relocated to a new build building from Greensboro about 6 months ago.

Ruddo, if you're going, text me.

Fond memories from the CD era

-The satisfaction that came with neatly removing that taped seal across the top of fresh purchase.
-Replacing a matte black CD tray with a clear one so you could add some DIY art to your jewel case.
-Learning the existence of bands only through their alphabetized names near the band you were looking for*.

*To this day, I only know Nitzer Ebb because I'd rifled through all the Nirvana CDs in section M-N-O.

How did you guys feel about digipaks? Better than jewel cases?

Yes and no. The glue would usually break down that held the disc part and it would separate if I kept them in the car. Which I did. The booklet even separated in my Vitalogy copy.

This happened to me a few times, but I don't think as often as I managed to snap off the little connecting plastic hinge bit on the corner of the jewel case

Yeah, that was a pain, too. I think the digipaks made for nicer packaging.

Made no difference to me unless I had to replace a top on a jewel case as you note above, though that wasn't very often at all from what I remember.

By the time I got my car I was already ripping CDs so I never took an actual packaged disc in the car, ripped a copy and put it in a binder.

Apparently, they're inflation proof.
