Re: Sleeping By Myself (Pearl Jam)
Great tune, horrible idea for this album
Very well done, completely out of place
Catchy and different, re-cycled old song
It will be very popular, I will skip it a lot
My wife will love it, but won't ever really listen to the album

Re: Sleeping By Myself (Pearl Jam)
Theres a twangy country/western guitar bit on this that makes me think of the the twangy spaghetti western guitar on pendulum.
So yeah, westerns, the desert, theres something there. Yellow moon kinda fits too.

I do want to buy the album because there are 4-6 tunes on there that I dig. But I get your point.McParadigm wrote:have toCoach wrote:After four years, you recycle a song that I have to pay twice for now. C'mon man.

When did "My wife will love it" become the favourite backhanded compliment of RM?

For me, it was when she turned to me at wrigley during Future Days, and said "I love it", while I was trying to make sense of why my rock band was playing behind keys performed by a producer.harmless wrote:When did "My wife will love it" become the favourite backhanded compliment of RM?
So, it certainly fits the description here for me.
My point was here with SBM that with better decisions, both my wife and I could have enjoyed it more. She won't listen to this album in whole, ever. And I will skip this track on most listens. I will have cut this tune into some mix for either of us to enjoy it

I haven't given the Uke Songs version many listens, b/c ukulele front and center sucks ass, but this isn't too bad.

No, I don't consider it a useful gauge of anything. My wife has great taste in everything (including men), and quite often hates stuff that I'll forgive, like shitty Pearl Jam music.EJ wrote:Its apt. I was the founding member and President of the This Shouldn't Be on the Tenth Album Club and I love what they ended up doing with this. I'd rather have it than not have it.
The easy delete track is FD, not this.

The shuffle of this song kinda reminds me of "Cabron" by RHCP...
