I'm happy for Azzi... But I'll never forgive Dallas for letting the fucking Lynx get Olivia Miles.

The games are super competitive without being mean spirited or domineering. And the fans generally are the same way. Like when the Sky first came to Brooklyn last year, T Spoon got a standing ovation for well over two minutes. And Angel was cheered when she scored her first basket. Game recognizes game.

And at least at Liberty games, fans know their shit. They are engaged and knowledgeable. I learn a lot every time I go. I don't know, the whole vibe just works for me. I love it.
This is exactly how I feel about the PWHL right now.

I still have to get invested in that league but I'm so ready for it! And I love that folks are diving in. I can't wait to go to my first Sirens game!

Is there something different about this free agency/trade season other than the increased salaries?

Everyone not on a rookie contact (except literally 2 players) was a free agent because the CBA expired. So all vets were homeless and free to sign anywhere.

On top of that, 2 new teams hooked the league, so there was a 2 team expansion draft before free agency. It's been exciting.

Interesting. It's never worked like that in other leagues with new CBAs, so that is a fun wrinkle. Sucks if you recently bought a jersey for your favorite player though.

True. But it seems like most of the really big FAs are staying put. Also, a fun thing about the W is that it's just as much fun following a player as it is a hometown team.

Liberty wins.

Mystics show out.

Fever loses to Dallas --- or rather Caitlin gets beat by Paige.

Anneli Maley gets picked up by the Mercury and then helps them to destroy the Aces.

About the best opening weekend of basketball I could have imagined. :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:
