Got to a few 2026 releases this weekend. Thoughts:
The Black Crowes - A Pound of Feathers - way way better than my meager expectations. I liked but didn’t love their last one, but this is much better.
U2 - Days of Ash: I actually think there might be 4 serviceable songs here. Clouded by the two obvious clunkers.
Sonic Youth - PLAY ME: I am not sure on this one. I needed a calibration listen. Probably going back to this at some point.
Tom Hamilton - I’m Your Vampire: PHENOMENAL! AOTY material for me, a real gem of a rock album. I expected it to be somewhat jammy but not that at all. Really just great rock music.

Sleeping Through the War and Nothing as the Ideal are my favorite albums. You can't really go wrong though.
Glad that our lil ATW fanclub is gathering steam.

Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Future Soul came out this week. About as good a southern soul/rock album as you’re gonna get in 2026. Front to back fabulous.
