Sad
Fatal
Down
Thumbing My Way
Ghost
Grievance
Light Years
Unemployable
Parachutes
The End

That was done fast, with the first songs that came into my head. Chances are I'd have a different list tomorrow (Severed Hand almost made it, for one). I would have tried to put one or two more Backspacer songs on there if they hadn't just been obliterated by Lightning Bolt (sorry Stip), but obviously this list doesn't include that.

Me too. I really love the song but it's hard to write down that song title as a best song....

I went for it. I genuinely love LBC and always have. It would probably be in my top 5 post 2000 songs. :luv:

Lightning bolt is going to have healthy representation on this list after a few months.

Thread title should be changed to "post-2000" if we're going to include LB songs.

Love Boat Captain came on over here yesterday, and I don't know that I'd ever noticed how good the rhythm guitar in the verses sound. For a song that has its share of fairly obviously flaws, the strong points always more than make up for them (for me at least). The high points of the song really hit the spot when I'm in the right mood.

The drum fill Matt does into the second verse is one of my favourite Riot Act moments.

I love the line "And if our lives became too long, would it add to our regret?" It's almost as though for every absolutely terrible line, there's an equally great one somewhere else in the song.
