It's popped up someplace else, but only the 24/96 FLAC version.cutuphalfdead wrote:Invites are currently closed on waffles, and also, the show isn't even there yet.
Yeah I saw. Unfortunately I don't have the ratio to grab it.Simple Torture wrote:It's popped up someplace else, but only the 24/96 FLAC version.cutuphalfdead wrote:Invites are currently closed on waffles, and also, the show isn't even there yet.
Regular ol' FLAC up now; seeder hasn't connected yet, but he's trustworthy, it'll be up soon with V0 shortly after.cutuphalfdead wrote:Yeah I saw. I don't have the ratio to grab anything right now. I'm hoping to beat someone to the punch upping an HD FLAC bootleg from this tour.Simple Torture wrote:Regular ol' FLAC up now; seeder hasn't connected yet, but he's trustworthy, it'll be up soon with V0 shortly after.cutuphalfdead wrote:Yeah I saw. There are two users there that upload every FLAC, basically, and they're very quick with it. If you don't think you can beat them to the punch, I'd suggest getting a regular FLAC from 10C and transcoding it for some upload (V0 always gets snatched, 320 almost always; V2 is a crapshoot).cutuphalfdead wrote:I don't have the ratio to grab anything right now. purchasing em all would be costlyBirds in Hell wrote:You could always, y'know, actually purchase it.i got bugs wrote:quick someone waffle invite me
I was listening to the 24/96 FLAC this morning. Got a USB DAC (nuForce uDAC-2) and a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones. Not a super expensive rig (~$100 for the DAC and $~100 for the headphones), but certainly better than white apple earbuds plugged into a headphone jack.hlniv wrote:I'd still love someone to compare to the sirius rip samples I posted earlier. Could help us Sirius subsribers decide whether to continue legally recording our radio feed for our own personal use or to pony up and buy the FLACs for some or all the shows...
for me the 2 are not even comparable, the flacs shit all over anything encoded for the radio. Some of the older pre official bootleg shows that they play on Sirius are just terrible compared to the same thing in flac.Leehro wrote:I was listening to the 24/96 FLAC this morning. Anyways, Sirens came on and I could immediately tell the difference with the HD FLAC in the opening strumming. Don't love the song but the quiet parts really shine with the FLACs. Then I jumped back to the thread and compared some spots on Lightning Bolt. Around 1:00, with the buildup to the first chorus. On the radio rip, the drums/bass are just kind of a fuzzy swamp of beats. On the FLAC I want to close my eyes, listen, and lock onto different instruments.
For me I'd say the official versions are worth it - Honestly I just didn't enjoy the radio rip. They're a nice preview but I'd rather listen to an older show in FLAC than a new show on Sirius. And I've had a subscription since 2007.
Thanks for the comparisons - i think we probably all expected as much, but it's certainly nice to have it confirmed... Now, just have to decide how many of these to get at $20 a pop for the HD FLACs?coffeecup wrote:for me the 2 are not even comparable, the flacs shit all over anything encoded for the radio. Oh I agree. I never listen to shows on SiriusXM on purposecoffeecup wrote: for me the 2 are not even comparable, the flacs shit all over anything encoded for the radio. Some of the older pre official bootleg shows that they play on Sirius are just terrible compared to the same thing in flac.
