Beck - Morning Phase (February!)

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

It's by no means a bad song, but "Blackbird Chain" is the only one I'd skip. Which is unfortunate, because I like the name.

I'm waiting on lossless copies to float around but I'm really excited to hear this.

Played this for the first time since last weekend and it's getting better and better. Songs grow every listen.

I didn't think much of Say Goodbye last weekend but it was a standout this morning

One issue I have with songs like Morning, Guess I'm Doing Fine, and Golden Age. I wish they were 3-4 minutes. I like the songs well enough but over 5 minutes just seems too long.

This record is fantastic. It's like Nick Drake and the best bits of Pink Floyd had a beautiful child.

Only thing wrong with it is it ends too soon.

If his other album is anything like "Defriended" & "I Won't Be Long", I'll be really happy.

I haven't heard a beck record since mutations(still a masterpiece) but I'm loving this new one.
Are there others I should be getting into?

"Guero" is an excellent album with a "fun" vibe. Much better than "Odelay" in my opinion.

"Modern Guilt" is also a great record. Some people don't like it, but I can't imagine why. It's much better than "The Information", which was a total snooze-fest.

Guero and Sea Change, definitely. The others have some standout tracks, but these 2 are solid top to bottom.

It's like Mutations and Sea Change fucked the Electric Light Orchestra.
