How many episodes are there supposed to be?

Is the focus always on Woody and McConaughey for each season, or does it change?
8 episodes this season. It will have a different cast and story line next season.
Completely different cast? Or more like the wire?

The media has presented as that, and it was originally billed as an anthology. But, a recent interview with the creator indicates he'd be willing to keep the characters again. Of course, that may not be up to him.

------------
Sounds like you really fell in love with both the characters and the men who play them. Is there a chance that you would break from the anthology concept, if given the option?

I miss them as men and I miss them as characters. Honestly, that would be up to Woody and Matthew. If those guys wanted to do anything I’d probably jump on it.

So if they said they wanted to come back for a second season, you’d do it?.

Oh yeah. I could write Cohle forever.

There's no way the nude scene lives up to the hype.

Its pretty amazing to see a society desensitized to nearly all pornography so enamored for 30 seconds of not even soft core action.

It is, but it's legit. I was pretty much a shitshow after that scene.

There's something that feels dirty about that scene that's not the same dirty as when you watch porn.

Yeah she's gorgeous but you all have seen female nudity before, at least on TV, right?

You never see a chick that hot, naked, on a television show.

Truuf.

Alas, I kinda hope she doesn't reappear so we can get back to talking about the show itself.

Even more moody & atmospheric. Love the music. Chole's visions, his dreary rhetoric. Sometimes you forget that they're investigating a murder. That's the beauty of this show so far. Equal parts character study & plot driven mystery yarn.

Well that was awesome. The dialogue between Marty and Rust was stellar in this episode, particularly the exchange at the tent revival.

Yeah. Rust's monologue over the crime scene photo montage was both disturbing and hypnotic.
