Grabovski has a hearing with the NHL at 4PM for biting Pacioretty. How Colton Orr isn't going to be suspended is beyond me.

You'd have thought Pacioretty would've learned not to be a complete dink after what Chara did to him...

Yeah, I thought Orr would get a game or two for his punch on Bourque.shinkdew wrote:Grabovski has a hearing with the NHL at 4PM for biting Pacioretty. How Colton Orr isn't going to be suspended is beyond me.

Re: NHL Thread
I went to Sabres v Bruins tonight and it was ugly. The Bruins dominated the Sabres all night long.
1. Pat Kaleta beat the cramp out of Campbell. It did the Sabres 0 good.
2. Ryan Miller was the best player on the ice.
3. Thomas Vanek looked gassed. The best thing for the Sabres might be for him to cool off a little. Everyone is just watching and waiting for him to do it. Vanek might have the best hand eye coordination in the league.
4. Tyler Seguin is filthy talented.
5. The Bruins are one of the best team in the East and the Sabres aren't close.

Re: NHL Thread
Miller was insane last night. At some point in this season series, I expect Chara to make an example of someone on the Sabres.

i cant see this being intentional but i am sure people will say it was
also cooke got a 10 minute misconduct for using his face to stop neils hands three times

there's no reason to lift your leg there...I don't think he was trying to cut him or slice his achilles, but I'm not certain he wasn't thinking of doing something dirtyPeeps wrote:

He was trying to put his foot between Karlsson's feet to tie up the puck.MattA75 wrote:there's no reason to lift your leg there...I don't think he was trying to cut him or slice his achilles, but I'm not certain he wasn't thinking of doing something dirtyPeeps wrote:

Matt Cooke is a dirty guy, but I honestly can't tell if he did it on purpose. it looks like he was trying to put his foot between his legs for postion.

going back two years, yea, id agree with you, but the past two he has been anything but
just like people who say sid cries all the time.
they are going on past behavior. cooke cut his penalties down drastically, but noone wants to give him credit (fan wise)

Re: NHL Thread
The general reaction seems to be that people who are thinking with their brains can tell that it was a strange play but there's no way Cooke did that on purpose, while Sens fans/players/staff are going nuts because Cooke's such a dirty player who just intentionally injured the best player in the league.
I don't blame them for being pissed, and it really does suck. But this exact play happens thousands of times every year with no injury. It was just bad luck... you don't always need to blame someone.

Also, Chris Neil deserves a suspension far more than Cooke in that game.

Re: NHL Thread
The Steckel hit was just as accidental as this one. They were both things that just happened. They were both extremely fluky, bad-luck plays that were immediately followed by cries of outrage from a single fan base. In this case, there may be a bit more wide-spread outrage because people are so quick to jump all over anything Matt Cooke does.Peeps wrote:and its funny cause noone bitched about the hockey play that started crosbys headaches which was way more not a hockey play than cookes was

Re: NHL Thread
Normally I'd say that wasn't intentional, but Cooke doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

there seems to be more people sticking up for cooke than not, least going by the comments on tsn.ca and what national commentators are saying
