The difference here is I don't have a problem with someone associating him with the Red Sox. I just think it's every bit as reasonable (if not more) to associate him with the White Sox. I would imagine that outside of Boston, most people who first got into baseball in the 80s associate him with the White Sox, as he was beyond a shadow of a doubt the face of the franchise from 1981 until Frank Thomas became a superstar in 1991. He put together some of his best seasons in Chicago, and was with the White Sox when he set all of his records and reached all of his significant career milestones. To this day if you walk around the park on game day, the only retired player you may see more people wearing jerseys of is Frank Thomas.

Conversely, I'm sure most people who first got into baseball in the 70s probably think of him as a member of the Red Sox.

Like I said earlier, the hall of fame already decided this argument.

On the long list of people & organizations whose opinions are the most worthwhile, the Hall of Fame ranks pretty close to the bottom.

Or Nolan Ryan going in with a Rangers cap because of the illustrious five seasons he put up there in his forties (one of which he missed half of)?

Nolan Ryan went in when players still picked their hat.

and as far as I'm concerned, the Maddux thing is lame and they should have just put the Atlanta hat on him.

Nope, Ryan went in 99 Fisk in 2000, and the rules changed in 2001

Thanks for the ski race explanations.

This thread is severely lacking in pics of hot female skiers.

Canada vs. USA in hockey is great to watch whether it's the men or women.

CBC streams pretty much every Olympic event, and they definitely streamed the women's game, but I assume you have to be in Canada to watch.

Are we spoilering things because people haven't seen it yet and are trying to watch it? Fair enough.

I didn't get to watch the third because I had to go to work, so apparently I missed all the excitement. I tried to get it streaming here, but the connection was too slow. The first two periods were good, but nothing really exciting happened. Just the idea that it's a Canada/USA game makes it automatically exciting, though.
