My Way vs Olympic Platinum
Sweet Lew vs Don't Gimme No Lip

This new round of matches is mostly pretty damned poor.

yeah.

The whole thing was randomized by the website. Don't blame me.

Sonic Reducer/Sleeping by myself is a good match.

Just curious, have any new accounts been created since this tourney started? That CC/Dead Man match has almost twice as many total votes as some of the other matches. Some of those have pretty predictable outcomes though.

some people just don't vote in all matches. I'm sure we have new accounts, but some of them may just be people who need an account to actually vote.

there have been other matches with as many votes as this one, I believe. I'd have to add the totals in the bracket.

But was it only randomized once? Backspacer got several favorable matchups. Just sayin'. Poor Riot Act on the other hand...

just once. And the second round byes were the top two songs from each of those album ranking threads, plus a few of the beastly b-sides.

The new round of matches is still way stronger than the last one in my opinion.

lament wrote:I don't really get the impression that anyone besides Varis actively hates it. Even you admitted Help, Help was better. I imagine most people enjoy Gremmie for what it is though. It's probably near the top of the list of studio covers they've done that I'm most likely to listen to, behind maybe only Crazy Mary.
I just wanna go on record as saying that I don't actively hate Gremmie out of Control, I just think it's kinda shit. There is a distinction there. There's not a lot of music that I can say that I really hate, although it certainly exists. Only a very few PJ songs fall into that category though - it's usually populated with heavy screetchy dubstep, scream-o and Celine Dion stuff.

It's kinda bullshit that there's not a chunk of the bracket that only consists of matches between Indifference, In My Tree, In Hiding, Insignificance, In the Moonlight, Inside Job, and Infallible.

And not having regional brackets. Those would certainly be part of the Into The Wild region.
